The Prepare: Making Disciples
the Gospel
Relationship → Sin → Jesus → Cross → Resurrection
Great Commission: This charge is for disciples.
BEING A Disciple
Luke 14:15-35 - Are you living as a disciple of Jesus?
Jesus takes discipleship seriously. Consider the cost (Luke 14:28).
Saying yes to Jesus means giving your life to Him. It is no longer your own.
Being a disciple: Pick up your cross daily.
Flesh vs. Spirit:
Galatians 5:17 – The sinful nature battles against the Spirit.
Flesh: The part of you that believes you should have/deserve whatever you want, whenever you want, and as much as you want.
Prophetic Word: The cycles of resistance (flesh, world, spiritual) must submit to Jesus this year.
Cost of Discipleship: It will cost you everything—reputation, comfort, material possessions, relationships.
Following Jesus: We hear, connect, and obey.
Making Disciples:
Discipleship is saying, “Follow me as I follow Jesus.”
Be sensitive to God's leading. Look for people in your day-to-day life to disciple.
Will you GO and disciple? No matter the cost?
What Keeps Us From Going?
1.Flesh: Comfort, laziness, fear, and routines.
No more comfortable Christianity!
Jesus didn’t stay comfortable—He went to the cross.
Example: I failed to share the gospel with my uncle because I was too comfortable.
2.Not Seeing People Rightly: God Priorities People
We must see people through Heaven's perspective.
Every person matters to God. Will you stop and prioritize souls over worldly things?
Practical ADVICE:
Hear
Spend time in the secret place (daily meeting with God).
Ask God to highlight who you are meant to disciple each day.
Stay sensitive to His leading when you're out and about.
Connect:
Connect with God’s heart for the people He highlights.
Trust that He loves them deeply and you have the power, love, and sound mind to love them.
Obey:
Walk in obedience, unashamed and Spirit-led.
You are the Salt of the earth
Luke 14:34-35: Salt is good for seasoning but loses its flavor if it’s not used.
Matthew 5:13: You are the salt of the earth.
2 Corinthians 2:15-16: Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance, both life-giving and a dreadful smell depending on the person.
Be Smelling Salt: Dead things come alive!
