Flourish || Remaining in His Courts

But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. They will declare, “The Lord is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in him!”  Psalm 92:12-15

Psalm 92:12-15:

Flourishing in God's Kingdom:

  • The godly flourish: Righteous, lovers of God, and His ways flourish.

  • Flourishing requires daily choices to live according to God’s ways—not your own.

Imagery in Psalm 92:

  • Palm trees (resilience)

  • Cedars of Lebanon (strength, durability)

  • Old age & fruitfulness: Godly ones stay vital and green, producing fruit no matter their age.

Transplanted to the Lord’s House:

  • God’s intervention: The Lord transplants us from unrighteousness to His house.

  • Our Story: Once planted in unrighteousness, but then God came, saved us, and moved us into His courts!

Flourishing in His Courts:

  • Tabernacle of God: The courts where God's presence dwells.

  • One entrance (East Gate) symbolizes Jesus—the only way to the Father.

  • Remaining in God’s presence allows for flourishing.

  • Personal Application: Staying in His presence through all circumstances (joy, grief, trial, blessing) is key to flourishing.

The Problem in the West:

  • Many Christians visit God’s presence but do not remain.

  • Emotional Instability: We exit His presence when things are tough, but God calls us to remain.

God's Call:

  • He desires those who choose to remain in His presence no matter the circumstances.

  • "I will remain firm!" A declaration of enduring faithfulness, like a tree planted by streams of water.

fOUR Factors that Prevent Successful Transplanting:

1.Soil Moisture & Drainage

  • Not drinking from the well of living water: We must choose Jesus’ living water over other sources (entertainment, addictions, etc.).

  • Poor drainage: Not pouring out what God pours into us. We need to serve others with what we receive.

  • Application:

    • Reject all other “wells.”

    • Commit to pouring out what God fills you with.

2.Nutrient Deficiency

  • Spiritual nutrients: Daily Bible reading, prayer, and fellowship.

  • Nutrient Binding: Unforgiveness, offense, and bitterness block spiritual growth.

  • Application:

    • Prioritize time in God’s Word and in prayer.

    • Ask God to search your heart and remove anything that prevents spiritual growth.

3.Planting Depth

  • Shallow Christianity: Half-hearted or lukewarm faith does not allow for deep roots.

  • Luke warm faith: “You are neither hot nor cold; I will spit you out.” (Revelation 3:16)

  • Application:

    • Be fully committed to Christ. Live all-in for Jesus.

    • Don’t uproot yourself—stay planted in His House

4.Environmental Factors

  • Who you surround yourself with matters. Ungodly friends, bad influences, and worldly wisdom can hinder growth.

  • Weeds: Unchecked sin and distractions compete for our spiritual resources.

  • Application:

    • Remove negative influences from your life (ungodly relationships, harmful media, etc.).

    • Stay in the light of Christ: Follow His leadership, not the world’s.

Those who remained:

  • Hannah & Anna:

    • Both remained faithful in tough circumstances (barrenness, widowhood).

    • They stayed in God’s courts, confident that He would answer their prayers.

    • God rewarded their faithfulness—Hannah had 5 more children, Anna saw the Messiah.

Ministry moment:

  • It’s time to remain in His courts—no more coming in and out. Stay firm in God’s presence.

  • God will reward faithfulness: Just like He rewarded Hannah and Anna.

  • This is an Ephesians 3:20 year—expect God to do exceedingly more in your life.

Invitation to Prayer:

  • Have you uprooted yourself or compromised?

  • Today, choose to remain in His courts forever.
